The Future of EMS Nurse Practitioners
The role of emergency nurse practitioners in emergency medical services is gaining national recognition as professional organizations such as the National Association of EMS Physicians and American Academy of Emergency Nurse Practitioners (AAENP) highlight their value in prehospital care. ENPs are increasingly acknowledged not only for delivering advanced clinical care, but also for contributing to education, quality improvement, and system oversight. This underscores the urgent need for a formal EMSNP educational pathway to ensure consistency, safety, and professional support.
